The dead body of famous American YouTuber and gamer Desmond Amofah, who was better known as Etika, has been found on Monday. The Brooklyn native’s body was found around 6:30 p.m. in the water near South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan. An autopsy is yet due to be held in order to find out the cause of his death.
Following frequent suicidal issues, Etika had disappeared on 19 June 2019. It happened soon after posting a video on YouTube in which he apologized people for letting them down. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) had been looking for him since his disappearance a week ago.
According to reports, police found belongings of the 29-years-old streamer on Manhattan Bridge on Saturday night. The NYPD had confirmed the disappearance of the popular YouTube personality on 20th June.

Etika, who gained widespread popularity for his Nintendo-related streams and videos on YouTube, had been struggling with mental health for a long time. His activities on social sites also reflected his mental status. Violating the YouTube guidelines, he had even uploaded pornography on YouTube in 2018. Furthermore, there are endless erotic tweets on his account as well.
After the confirmation of his death by the NYPD, his fans expressed their emotions. Some of them even said that the earth is not a good place without Etika. He has 282 thousand followers on Instagram and 358 thousand on Twitter.
Likewise, Etika’s YouTube channel, Hactos, has 54,797 subscribers. The late YouTuber had joined YouTube on 9 November 2017 and so far, he has over 16 million views.
