Tori Spelling Accuses Andy Cohen Of Not Casting Her On Real Housewives Because Shes Bro

August 2024 · 3 minute read

Tori Spelling hasn’t been afraid to discuss her financial hardships amid her ongoing divorce from Dean McDermott, with reports suggesting the star has gone from a million-dollar net worth to a current fortune of $150,000.

Most recently, Spelling called out Bravo producer Andy Cohen for not including her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Tori suggested the decision not to cast her was because she’s too “broke” for the show’s standards. The Real Housewives franchise is known to flaunt the luxurious (and often expensive) lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Despite being known for reality television, it seems Spelling didn’t make the cut, though she was interested. And based on her comments, she seems salty..

During the latest episode of her "misSPELLING" podcast, Tori said, "I'm like, I don't know," in response to a fan who suggested she’d be perfect for the long-running franchise.

"Once I asked Andy Cohen, who I love and have known forever, been on his show many times,” she continued. “He was like, 'Yeah, we keep getting this question.’”

She went on, "And I'm like, 'So, Andy, what's the answer?' He was like, 'Ehh, I don't know. You and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? I can't see it.'"

The Real Housewives cast members are known to make a hefty paycheck, considering the popularity of the show, which may be extra appealing to Spelling given the money problems she’s admitted to facing (including millions in tax debt). Reports say some cast make between $500,000 to $1 million per season, though salaries vary.

Spelling went on to say that she doesn’t understand why she was never tapped for the show, other than her financial woes, explaining not only is she friends with a lot of the cast but she’s an OG Beverly Hills girl, given she rose to fame on 90210.

"I go, 'Every single one of them I am friends with and have known forever and have a history,'" Tori continued on the podcast. "But whoa, whoa, whoa, wasn't I the OG Beverly Hills? I don't understand."

"What I really want to say to him, and I'm a little passive aggressive, so I'm like, 'Huh! All the fans ask, Andy, so I don't know, whatever that's fine,'" she continued. "What I wanted to say is, 'Uh, is it because I'm broke? Let's be real.'"

Tori added, "I want to tell you something that's not going to be shocking. I'm not good with money. I suck with money. I didn't even know how to write a check until I was in my 40s.”

For now, Andy Cohen hasn’t commented on Tori’s belief on why she wasn’t cast on the show.
