Israel’s Government Responded To Gigi’s Pro-Palestine Post
CloseThis marks Gigi’s first public outing since she shared a post on Instagram last week where she called the Israeli government anti-semitic. She wasn’t alone, however, as her mom Yolanda Hadid, 59, and her friend and fellow model Taylor Hill, 27, were on hand for the event.
Last weekend, Gigi faced backlash after sharing an infographic on Instagram that explains how pro-Palestine commentary is being mistaken for supporting antisemitism or Hamas.
“There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians. Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas,” the post, which was originally created by the IG account @consent.wizardry, explained.

But it’s not only that Gigi’s re-sharing of the infographic got her in trouble from her followers, but also the Israeli government, who has directly responded to her post.
The government shared an edited version of the infographic on its Instagram account, but with the writing, “There is nothing valiant about Hamas’ massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their fight against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do.”
The government account also added a caption directly tagging Gigi, writing, “@gigihadid Have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you.”
Another post on the Instagram Story featured an image of bloodied children’s toys and clothing, while tagging Gigi along with the caption, “If you don’t condemn this your words mean nothing.”
Gigi Hadid’s Family Has Been Getting Death Threats
Since her initial post on social media, reports say that Gigi has been flooded with death threats, as has the rest of her family.
As per TMZ, Gigi and her younger siblings, models Bella and Anwar Hadid, alongside her divorced parents, Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid, have all received threats on their lives in recent weeks amid their vocalness about the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. The threats have come via social media, emails, and even on their personal cell phones. The family has also had personal information released, including phone numbers.
TMZ alleges that Mohamed Hadid is considering reaching out to the FBI if the threats continue to escalate.
